Exercise as self-care

Can yoga help you lose weight?  Or Tai Chi?  I have tried both, and these are excellent approaches to muscle strengthening and low-impact exercise.  If you try these or similar exercise regimens and find them helpful, then go for it!  I currently try to work out about 150 minutes or more per week using conventional routines with a combination of stretching, free weights, treadmill, and exercise bike workouts.

However, I do not work out for weight loss.  For effective weight loss, I am committed to intermittent fasting in combination with an effective diet plan that works for me.   The “Eat less exercise more” approach has been proven over and over not to work.  I work out to improve my LDLs levels, cardio health, improve muscle tone and increase endurance.
